Unexposed Collective Street Photography Exhibition

Unexposed Collective Street Photography Exhibition

I’m happy to share that the below image is part of a group exhibition, Wall of Women by Women, at the Ballarat International Foto Biennale 2023 in Australia. Julia Coddington (@juliacoddington) and Rebecca Wiltshire (@rebeccawiltshire), founders of the Unexposed Collective (@unexp_collective), curated the Wall of Women which features more than 100 images made by international female street photographers. You can see and “slide across” the images featured on the wall on the Unexposed Collective’s website. I’m in excellent company and wish I could be there in person. The festival runs from August 26 to October 22.

The Unexposed Collective was founded in 2018 “in response to the domination of the male voice in street photography. Featuring female, non-binary and intersex photographers, Unexposed is a kind of anti-collective. It is non-elitist and non-hierarchical. It reflects the founders concerns that as street photography grows in popularity, women are not left behind, either as a consequence of casual or institutional sexism, or as a consequence of our own fears about putting our work and ourselves forward.” You can read more about the collective, the Wall of Women by Women street photography exhibition, and the festival on the Ballarat International Foto Biennale’s website.
